"A new documentary put out by the National Inflation Association makes the observation that the cost of college is rising rapidly while the value of college is declining.
Tens of thousands of college graduates still cannot find jobs. And yet many of them have enormous student loans that must be paid back.
Why do I bring this up? Because I believe the education market is going to see some massive changes in the coming years.
(Traditional) College will see steep declines in enrollment. Many colleges will shutter their doors as they find themselves unable to pay for the expensive campuses they've built.
Of course, the end of college as we know it does not mean the end of education. No, education will go on. But, how people get their education will evolve.
I see a future where people will educate themselves via a customer-designed course of study in whatever field they want to pursue.
I see a future where people seek out experienced individuals to learn from and mentor under.
I see a future where people have more control over their education and their careers.
I see a future where people can get a college-equivalent education without having to mortgage their lives through student loans.
Do you see this future? I believe it's coming and sooner than most people think."
